Café Inquiry (Muskegon and Online) – What Does It Mean to Live a Good Life?

We often hear people talk about “living a good life”.  But what constitutes a “good life”? Different people have different definitions concerning how to live a good life, often depending on their particular worldview. A person with a religious viewpoint might define a good life much differently than would someone with a secular outlook. How do you look at what characterizes a good life? Are there certain necessary ingredients that make up a good life, or can there be as many definitions of a good life as there are individuals? Join us as we dive into this topic, and any others that come up in the course of the discussion!

But we might have buried the lede, because this month we’re meeting IN PERSON!!! for the first time since…well, you know. As we have had over the past 2+ years a number of attendees from a bit farther away than is reasonable to drive (such as Utah), we’re going to also provide a Zoom link so those people can still attend. We’re not sure how well (or poorly) this will work, but we’re going to try. We’ll be outside, weather permitting. The address for the in person meeting is noted above.

Café Inquiry starts with a short introduction of the day’s topic, followed by casual discussion.

This event is free and open to the public. Donations appreciated, but not expected.

Attendees are able to future propose topics which would align with Michigan Humanist’s purpose: from atheism, agnosticism, humanism, secularism, and freethinking to broader subjects in science and humanities, such as religion, philosophy, social issues, politics, evolution, morality, ethics, and psychology.

Café Inquiry (Muskegon) meets each month on the second Thursday.
